Consultant and Non-Executive Director

Steve has a diverse set of skills that have been developed through the course of his career. During his time as a PhD qualified civil engineer, Steve worked with Advanced Geomechanics as a consultant and project manager to the oil and gas industry on some of the largest and most complex offshore projects in Australia. The company specialised in bespoke engineering solutions for offshore foundation engineering problems, and routinely conducted specialised testing and analysis, including regular collaborations with several leading Universities in the world.

He became closely involved in the management of the firm at operational and administrative levels, and was a Director for 12 years. As Company Secretary, he was heavily involved in the Company sale process in 2012-13, which culminated in the acquisition of the business by Fugro N.V., a multi-national geoscience services company.

Steve now has a strong interest in technology development and commercialisation of research in a range of industries, and is an active investor in Early Stage Innovation Companies.  He is an Adjunct Professor at The University of Western Australia in a part-time capacity, and provides guidance to engineering research to maximise its industrial applicability and impact. He is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD) and is enthused by small business agility, company culture, and adaptive small business systems.
