Cameron Johnston

Managing Director, Giant4

Having graduated from the University of South Australia with a Bachelor of Business in Marketing, Cameron started in a graduate position with Ampol Limited. He quickly moved to the head office based in Sydney. After nearly ten years he moved to Thorn Lighting and then Detmold Packaging as Marketing Manager. The later position was based back in his home state of South Australia. This move also heralded the feeling that corporate life was not quite his bag and he purchased a small company manufacturing street furniture. Being more his ‘speed’ this business developed in to a collection of enterprises. During this time Cameron developed his skills at combining the exuberance of the entrepreneur whole simultaneously keeping a watchful eye on the financial imperative.

While he believes the lessons he has leaned are not in themselves noteworthy he is very keen to share experiences with other such that they may look for certain pit falls or understand that the pressure they are feeling are all ‘quite’ normal. Collective these skill we most recently called upon when Cameron became the chairman of Keyhole TIG limited. This listed company was charged with the responsibility of commercialising ground breaking welding technology and navigating through the mind field that is a ‘start-up’.

Cameron has an adventurous spirit that is best demonstrated by his extra-curricular activities. Hiking the Kokoda Trail, completing the Ironman Triathlon, riding a push bike 1100km in 6 days and mountain climbing in Argentina.
